I'm a nurse. What's my role in Helia?

What nurses need to know about Helia — no app or account required, just a quick sign-off on the rep's device when enabled at your facility.

As a nurse, you don't need to create an account or download anything. Helia is used by the supplier rep — your touchpoint is brief, familiar, and happens right in the OR.

What changes for you

Nothing changes about your clinical responsibilities or how you prep for a procedure. The one difference is how you sign off on the implant documentation.

Previously, reps recorded what was used on a paper billing sheet. With Helia, the rep logs the implants digitally in the Helia Connect app on their mobile device during the procedure. Before the rep leaves the OR, they'll hand you their device to review the entries and sign off — just like you would on paper, just on a screen.

The process, step by step

  • The procedure begins as usual — no changes to your prep or clinical responsibilities.

  • During the procedure, the rep records the bill-only implants in the Helia app on their mobile device.

  • Before the rep leaves the OR, they hand you their device. You review the entries to confirm everything matches the patient chart.

  • Once confirmed, you sign directly on the rep's device. No app download, no login required.

Important to know

  • This only applies at facilities where nurse signature has been enabled. Not every health system requires it — if your facility hasn't enabled it, no action is needed from you.

  • The rep's app works offline, so this process works even without Wi-Fi or cell signal in the OR.

  • If you have questions about whether your facility has enabled nurse signature, check with your supply chain team.

Tip: If a rep asks you to sign outside of the OR or after the procedure has ended, that's fine too — the app works offline and the signature can be captured at any point before the rep submits the case.
