Note: This article applies when you used the same item number twice with two different lot numbers. If you used more of the same item with the same lot number, see Updating item quantity on a case instead.
When to use this
If the same item number was used more than once during the case, but each unit has a different lot number, you'll need to add the second unit as its own line item. This keeps each lot number correctly documented and tied to the right unit.
Do not use the quantity field for this. Increasing the quantity on an existing line only works when every unit shares the same lot number. To document different lot numbers, each unit must appear on its own separate line.
How to add the item with a different lot number
On the existing item line, select Copy Item and Modify Details.
Open Add Item Details on the newly created line.
Update the Item status and lot number to match the new unit.
Modify any other details as needed.
Select Save Item Details.
Once saved, the item will appear as its own separate line on the case, with its own lot number distinct from the original.
