Why does an item show a different price per box vs. per unit?

Why an item shows a different price per box vs. per unit, and how to fix it.

This is a unit of measure (UOM) question. Some items are sold individually but contracted per box, or vice versa. When these don’t align, the price shown in Helia may look wrong.

Common causes

  • The item is contracted as a box (e.g., 10 units per box) but you’re submitting individual units — or vice versa.

  • The contract has both a per-unit and per-box price, and Helia can’t automatically determine which applies.

What to do

  • Before submitting: Check your records to confirm how the item is priced (per box or per unit) and match the quantity in your case accordingly.

  • After a rejection for a UOM issue: Submit a ticket with the item number, DO#, and a description of the discrepancy. UOM corrections require a fix on our end.

Tip: When in doubt, match your records exactly. If records shows ‘per box of 5’, enter 1 box — not 5 individual items.
